Singapore records strong numbers for their national shopping festival. Now in its 13th year, the Great Singapore Sale continues to draw increasing numbers of visitors from the Middle East, according to senior Singapore tourism chiefs.
Running up until 23 July, the event sees malls, shopping centres and shopping districts offer huge discounts – some as much as 70 per cent – on a variety of goods including fashion, electronics, jewellery, watches, gifts and household items.
This year the Great Singapore Sale has hit a record high with a total of 30 neighbourhood centres taking part. Hundreds of shops in town centres and shopping malls will be offering discounts on a wide array of products and services.
The festival offers visitors as wide a range of discounts throughout Singapore. Highly popular late night shopping hours are extended even more to accommodate the demand and a higher volume of enticing promotions and exciting offers come into a class of their own so visitors can shop to their hearts’ content.
Flights to Singapore rapidly sell out during this summer high season, with a significant portion of visitors taking advantage of the great shopping arriving from the Middle East.

How To Choose A Tie
It is an art to match the tie correctly with the rest of the clothes and the occasion. So how do you perfect the tricks of it? Simply remember these few guidelines.
Always buy the tie of correct length. Standard tie lengths are 130-150cm. Tall men should request for longer ties. An appropriate tie length is when the triangle tip of the tie touches your belt buckle.
Unless you can afford to buy tie widths in fashion, buy a width of 8-9cm which is a general width and will never get out of fashion.
While purchasing a tie to go with a suit, ensure that you carry the suit with you. You will then have a perfect idea of how the tie will look when worn. If the jacket is a sports coat then the color of the trousers must also be taken into consideration while selecting the tie.
Before buying, carefully check the tie for any manufacturing defect like loose threads, uneven weaving, stain, discoloration, smudge, etc.
Casual, regular office ties can be polyester blends, but business meetings and other occasions require silks or silk blend ties.
For all occasions, avoid ties with pictures and cartoons. These patterns are very informal and should be worn only to similarly informal occasions, like a birthday party or a family gathering.
